The Beachfront's pristine views of the crystal-blue Pacific Ocean and rows of stately palm trees makes for some of California's most spectacular sunsets.

The waterfront, extending 3.7 miles from Shoreline Park to the Bird Refuge, was originally home to five very established pre-Colombian Chumash Indian villages. In 1872, however, Sterns Wharf was constructed which proved to be the beginning of a booming industry for Santa Barbara. Soon wealthy health-seekers made Santa Barbara a fashionable resort, creating a reputation this area continues to be known for worldwide.
